Human Fodder

Policemen who have fallen in the line of duty are honored with parades and ceremony, yet our young soldiers come home in caskets draped with ignominious silence. Flags are far prettier than the human fodder for roadside bombs, and mothers who cry out against the waste their children's young lives are fair game for the Republican Attack Machine.
